My 2018 Pocket Pages Album!

Guys I've done it!  I've finally started my 2018 album!!

No I haven't caught up on all of 2017 yet, but it's time, time to start on the new year and finish off 2017 in the spare moments.

I've done a lot of thinking about what size album to use this year.  I've had 6x8 albums for both 2016 and 2017 and have loved that size, but I was really considering a shake up this year.

If anyone in the scrapbooking industry was making 6x12 albums at the moment I would have SO been there!!  But nope, no 6x12's to be found anywhere (sigh!)  So my best larger option was a 9x12, and I just don't have that many photos to document each week.  So, 6x8 it is again this year, and I'm pretty happy with that.

I'll share more about my albums for this year in my week 2 post.

I'm also starting the new year with some new supplies.  This is the Studio Calico January Documenter Kit called Summit.  Now if you're in Australia and have ever ordered any scrapbooking supplies from the US, you'll know they seem to take forever to get here right?  Well, silly me took the budget shipping option for this kit and it felt like it took eons to arrive!  Well that may be a little dramatic, but lets just say most of the US had received their February kit by the time my January kit arrived.  Note to self.  No more budget shipping..

But... gosh this kit is BEAUTIFUL!!  It's been a while since I've used Studio Calico and I'm loving the quality of their product in the Documenter Kit.  There are plenty of 3x4 cards, and if you pick up some digital elements like I have this month, it's super easy to have a huge range of product to create your spreads with.

The title card for this week was part of an index on a 6x4 card that came with the kit.  I just trimmed it down to 3x4 and added the dates and a sticker to change it up to a title card.

This card is my absolute fave out of the kit this month.  The colours, the flowers, the folksy style to it, totally me.  I stamped one of the kit stamps onto white cardstock and layered that with a star sticker from the sticker sheet to make a simple filler card.

I've also created an insert for this week which holds a mini-book/album with photos of a fun bushwalk we did on the weekend, and I'll be back to share that soon.

Thanks for stopping by today!

You're Cooler Than You Think

Again this week I'm keeping things simple in an effort to catch up 2017, since we're already half way through February 2018 eep!

Products this week are from the December Scrapbook and Pocket Life kits from Citrus Twist Kits, and I've pulled a brighter colour palette this week.

The succulents are super cute and I can't even deal with how adorable the pots are!!

I'm not a huge fan of close up photos of me, especially when they're going in to my pocket page album.  Thankfully on this particular day Snapchat came to the rescue and made me look a little bit cute with a sparkly bunny nose and ears!

I fussy cut a few of those little succulents from the Green Thumb patterned paper, and used one here on the bottom of a journaling tag.

Huge fan of this self-love styled filler card!  I think a reminder like this never goes astray.

This was a quick and easy week to get in the album. I love how clean and simple it looks, but still with a little detail to it.

Thanks so much for popping in today!

Week 40!

This week I have week 40 to share.  I'm trying to keep things pretty sweet and simple while I'm ticking off weeks in my 2017 catch up.  I've even committed to not adding any inserts for the rest of my regular weeks for the year (I'll totally have to do them for the days we were on our Hawaiian holiday though!)

This spread is using the Citrus Twist Kits December 2017 Pocket Life and Scrapbook kits.  I love how easy it is to change colour palettes to suit each week with with all of the product that you get in these kits.

I used some embroidery thread in a coordinating colour for a border on my title card this week.  My go to method for this is to run my patterned paper through an unthreaded sewing machine on a super long stitch.  It just saves me a few moments in hand paper piercing.

I actually think this photo is a little bit cute, it was just taken in an outside wash-basin mirror of some public bathrooms at Bondi Beach, but when I see the photo it totally takes me back to that moment in time, walking on the sun-drenched beach walk around Bondi.

I've used a Cheery Lynn die from my stash to help make this quick and easy filler card.  The only other thing added is a tag from the kit and a puffy sticker.  Of course I had to run it through my sewing machine too!

Onward and onward to week 52!

Week 39 & the Rugby League Grand Final

I've been excited to get this week down, knowing that it was full of good memories of our annual trip to Sydney for the rugby league grand final.  We always travel with a group of friends, go to fun things like football during the day and eat delicious food at Sydney restaurants by night.

I've used the December Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life and Scrapbooking kits in this spread, including lots of Fancy Pants Designs goodies from the Take Note collection.

Since I took a few photos this week I added another insert, so that I could keep the entire week within the two pocket pages.  I've shaped this insert like a tag and added faux reinforcing and ribbon at the top of each side.

Like I mentioned on Instagram, I'm really being drawn to more hybrid layouts at the moment.  I think I'll embrace this a lot more in my 2018 PL, but for now I'm happy to include digital elements here and there, like this title card for the week.

A scripty font, gold thickers and a teeny tiny heart... Love.

I had a chance to create a few layers on this insert, including one of the glassine paper bags that always hold smaller goodies that come in the CTK kits.

And another mini page with a shot of the football stadium while Macklemore was on stage for the pre-game entertainment.  This was a pretty important day in Australian history, with Macklemore weighing in on the Australian marriage equality debate.  And not to mention I rated seeing Macklemore live higher than the grand final game (don't tell my hubby that though)!

This week was such a fun time and I'm so glad to have it documented in my 6x8 album.

Thanks for stopping by today!
