Larch Valley Fall Travellers Notebook | Hip Kit Club

Hi friends, this past week at Hip Kit Club we've been celebrating back to school and fall. I've used some of the beautiful warm tones from the August kits today to create this travellers notebook spread documenting our time in Larch Valley, Canada last fall.

I used Paige Taylor Evans paper #06 behind my large photo and fussy cut the bottom edge of the scalloped chevron pattern to hang below it.

I added some vellum to the top part of this paper above my photo to mute the colours just a little, and stitched over the edges using my sewing machine.

The chipboard heart from Paige Evans in the August Pocket Life kit is so adorable, and I hand stitched that in a cross-stitch pattern with purple embroidery thread to add to the left page. I also used one of the 3x4 cards from the Pocket Life kit for my journaling.

A few of the fall coloured leaves from the Embellishment Kit were perfect to scatter across my page, and I love how it feels like they're falling from the trees in my photo.

Are you seeing signs of fall (or spring) where you are?

Thanks for stopping by guys! xo

Snapchat Love! | Travellers Notebook for Hip Kit Club

Hi Guys!  Today I have a fun and whimsical travellers notebook spread documenting a recent Friday night Snapchat selfie.  I'm using the August 2019 Pocket Life kit from Hip Kit Club for this spread and my brief is to use triangles or hexagons (you can see that I went with hexagons hehe).

I used a hexagon die set from my stash and die cut different sized hexagons from a few of the project life cards, and also cut two of them from the packaging of products in the kit (the grid pattern is from the Pinkfresh Studio Office Hours puffy stickers, and the pastel plaid is from the Pretty Little Studio Indian Summer frames).  More and more manufacturers are getting on board with making packaging that can be repurposed in your projects, so be on the lookout for those because it can totally bulk out your scrappy purchases!

I placed the hexagons around the page and stitched them all down with regular sewing machine thread.

Then I've used the sweet sticker elements from the Paige Evans Truly Grateful stickers in the kit to embellish my page.  I think the whimsical characters in the sticker sheet work really well with the Snapchat photo in my spread!

I've used one of the 3x4 journalling cards to matt my photo, and I love how it has a washi tape piece at the top.  To make it look like it was overlapping my photo I used my scalpel to cut the lower left side of the washi, and then I could tuck my photo in underneath it.  Love how that turned out!

Some quick strip journalling about how I always seem to take a Snapchat selfie on Friday nights (totally my favourite time of the week!) and I called this layout done.

I also have a process video on my YouTube channel for this layout if you'd like to see how it came together:

As scrapbookers we often don't include ourselves in layouts, why don't you join in with the Hip Kit design team this week and scrap a selfie of you!?

Thanks for stopping by today! xo
