Happy People!

One of the tiny phrase stickers in February's Citrus Twist Kits scrapbook kit simply says "happy people".  This pretty much sums up this week for me.

As a mum of young adults, it makes me so proud of the bond that our kids have.  It's so easy to begin your own life as an adult and get a little out of touch with siblings.  But this week, Brent and his girlfriend Sophie made an epic road trip of 9 hours to visit Kayci in her new home town.  It means the world to me to have raised two beautiful happy people who are now sharing their lives with other happy people!

This is the last week for my February kits.  I'm actually a little OCD with my kits, and like to match up the kit months with my PL months.  So for example I use my February kits to document February. I've so loved this month's kits using the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection!

For this filler card I trimmed one of the 6x4 cards that came with the pocket life kit in half to make it a 3x4 card.  I've then used my fave new scrappy tool, my We R Memory Keepers frame punch board to create a 2.5 x 2.5" frame and then layered a tag, a piece of ephemera and a phrase from the cutapart sheet for my base, and then added some stitching and a few of the lovely sequins from the kit.

I love love this journalling card that says "be a little more you and a lot less them".  Always good to have a reminder to just be yourself!  I added one of the floral ephemera pieces to the top right corner after I printed my journaling out, and simply trimmed the overhanging pieces to fit the card.

The tags in the Chasing Dreams collection are just the sweetest!  I used this one to add detail to a 6x4 journalling card, and added some chipppy pieces and more sequins.  To create the negative "sweet" heart I backed a negative piece from the chipboard pack with some patterned paper, and then cut down one of the leatherette stickers which I wouldn't have otherwise used from the kit.  Once cut it fits perfectly into the little heart negative.

The lace is from my stash, and was tea-dyed for another project.

To be truthful, I'm kind of sad to pack February's kits away... but at the same time I can't wait to dive into March's kits!

Week Seven!

It never ceases to amaze me how many different colour palettes you can pull from one collection, or in this case, my February Citrus Twist kits.

While last week's spread was all pinks and golds, this week I've pulled some of the cooler shades from the kit, and I love the combination of blues and pastel greens in my week seven.

As with the other three spreads I've created with this kit, the papers and most of the ephemera is from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.  Such a variety of embellishments to work with!

So that I could add some texture to my page, I adhered this photo over the top of the pocket.  I then adhered the chippy sticker to the photo with a strip of tulle tied in a little knot.

The ephemera pack had two pretty layered rosettes in it.  I pulled them both apart and then reconstructed this one with another tag from the pack and a chippy heart.  It's a simple filler card but I  love how it turned out.

I'm still loving the sequins in the February scrapbook kit.  I've scattered them around my embellishment clusters here across two pockets for a bit of a cascading effect.

And that's my week seven!

Hello Gorgeous!!

Week 6 of 2017 was a pretty special one for us.  Not only was Monday a holiday because of our anniversary long weekend away, but we also brought home our long awaited sweet Cavalier King Charles pup, Violet!

This spread uses the Citrus Twist Kits February Pocket Life and Scrapbook kits, and I've included lots of pink and some gold highlights this week.

To make this filler card I trimmed the 6x6 calendar paper down so that I had just the month of February (since I'm currently documenting February), and added that to the butterfly patterned paper.  Then I just added the sweet and simple chippy birdy.

For my weekly title card I've layered a couple of chippy pieces with some tulle and one of the labels from the cut apart sheet that came in one of the kits.

I combined a couple of the stamps from the kit and stamped them directly over a photo of our little girl on her first day at home with us (yes we totally had to introduce her to the beach on her first day at home)

The sequin mix in the scrapbook kit is just divine!  I added a chippy sticker to some patterned paper and popped it in a 3x4 pocket with a few of the sequins, and stitched it closed.

This 'it's your story" card is one of my favourites this month.  Such a pretty scripty font.

I've stamped another phrase on a photo of our delicious morning tea had at The Farm at Byron Bay, such a special place!

And one more pic of our sweet little Violet, just because <3

The Happiest Place on Earth!

For most people when they describe their Happiest Place on Earth, there's no question they're talking about Disneyland.  But for me, I think I found my Happiest Place on Earth at a little place called The Cook's Cottage in the Byron Bay Hinterland.  That's where Greg took us for our wedding anniversary this year, and I completely fell in love with it!  And so it pretty much takes up all of my project life spread for Week 5, 2017.

I had my big camera out a lot over the weekend so I had a quite a few pics I wanted to get into my album.  So I added in a couple of little inserts.

I used the Simple Stories mini pockets and just punched extra holes with my Cropadile so that they fit the six rings of my Studio Calico 6x8 binder.

This is the very middle of the extra pages with a 3x6 insert and a 6x4 insert.

This spread has been created with my February Citrus Twist kits.  The February kits heavily feature Maggie Holmes' Chasing Dreams collection, and I always love her chipboard stickers.  How adorable is that gold bow though!?

One of my favourite filler cards which I shared as a sneak peak on my Instagram account, and created with the help of my favourite new toy, my We R Memory Keepers frame punch board.  Love it to bits!

I set out the text for this label on a Word document in a cute font and printed it on a regular A4 piece of paper. Then it was just a matter of lining up the label over the already-printed paper and feeding it back through the  printer to have the text sit perfectly on the label.

Project Life | Week 4 2017

I know it's been a while since I've blogged, and I have this struggle about how to spend my spare time.  You'd think I'd be used to full time work by now after being back at it for two years (already!), but still the days seem to fly by.

So this week I'm making an effort to spend a few minutes sharing my week 4 for 2017!

February's Citrus Twist Kits have a bunch of Maggie Holmes' new collection Chasing Dreams in them.  I always think that Maggie does the greens in her collections so well and love the contrast of the bold colours against the pastel pinks that she also loves.

I love this sweet little flair and layered it up on some of the gold chipboard and then on top of some ephemera and one of the tags in the ephemera pack.

A perfect little leatherette sticker to record the yummy treats I baked for a special event at work.

This is a 3x4 card that was on one of the larger 12x12 papers, and it made easy work as a filler card.  All I needed was a few little stickers and a date stamp and I called it done!

Thanks for stopping by today, hopefully it won't be too long before I post again!
